The
Holden Special was a vehicle produced by
General Motors–Holden's Ltd in
Australia from 1953 to 1968. Introduced as the top trim level in the new
Holden FJ range, it was initially offered only as a four door sedan. A wagon, officially known as the Holden Special Station Sedan, was released in March 1957. The Special remained at the top of the Holden range until the addition of the Holden Premier as the top trim level in the EJ Series of 1962. The Special continued as the mid range Holden (between the Standard and the Premier) until it was replaced by the
Holden Kingswood in 1968. The Special was only available with a six cylinder engine.
